ARTICLE + Wu Yize Handicap Snooker Tournament
September 2, 2025 On August 29th, the inaugural 2025 Wu Yize Billiards Centre Snooker Handicap Open (Gansu), with a total prize money of over 50,000 RMB and a champion's prize of 20,000 RMB, officially started at the newly opened Wu Yize Billiards Club. Former national champion Da Hailin, alongside top provincial players who recently participated in the National Snooker Team Championship, gathered together, sparking a new wave of snooker enthusiasm in the Northwest region.
The Wu Yize Billiards Centre in Lanzhou is located in the city's core area, covering a total area of 2,000 square meters. It stands as one of the largest and most top-tier professional competitive billiards halls in the Northwest. After nearly a year of meticulous preparation, the club officially opened last week and quickly gained widespread attention from local snooker enthusiasts thanks to its professional facilities and high-quality service.
As the first major tournament since the club's grand opening, the event proved highly attractive. It not only brought together the top players from across Gansu province but also saw its limited 128 slots fill up well in advance, setting a new record for participant numbers in a snooker handicap tournament in Gansu.
It is worth noting that top provincial players such as Li Yan, Yang Zujin, Zhang Jiaming, Fan Xin, and Li Jiakun had recently represented Gansu Province and Lanzhou City in the National Snooker Team Championship. They brought the competitive experience and professional perspective gained from the national stage to this event, infusing the tournament not only with the intensity of provincial rivalry but also with a professional atmosphere reminiscent of national competitions.
The Wu Yize Billiards Club is built to international standards. Among its nine snooker tables, seven are Wiraka 1980 tournament snooker table, providing players with excellent competitive conditions. Over the four days of intense competition, players showcased their superb skills on this high-standard stage, vying for honor and delivering a series of thrilling matches for the audience.
